We are delighted to announce world management of acclaimed coloratura soprano Danae Kontora!
The Greek soprano is one of the most exciting artists performing today. Renowned for her dazzling vocal aptitude and captivating stage presence, she is on demand both in the hard to cast coloratura repertoire and in new productions and for premieres of new and traditional operas.
A real stage animal, Danae has recently performed Queen of the Night in Barrie Kosky’s production for Komische Oper Berlin, which toured to Beijing, Macao, and Taiwan as well as singing the role for Semperoper Dresden, Teatro Regio Torino, Oper Leipzig, Oper Frankfurt, Aalto Musiktheater Essen, Staatsoper Stuttgart, and Deutsche Oper am Rhein Düsseldorf.
Recent seasons have seen her impress in role debuts as Lucia in il Viaggio, Dante at Opéra National de Paris under Kent Nagano, Pretty Polly at Oper Frankfurt, Cunegonde at Athens Concert Hall, and Zerbinetta in Ariadne auf Naxos at Finnish National Opera. Paris Opera have immediately re-invited her.
Danae made her debut with the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks under Sir Simon Rattle, performing Waldvogel in concerts of Wagner’s Siegfried at the Isarphilharmonie München, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, and Philharmonie Luxembourg. The performance was released on the BR Klassik label:

On the concert stage, Danae has appeared with the Gewandhausorchester, Münchner Rundfunkorchester, Bamberger Symphoniker, at the Edinburgh International Festival, BBC Proms, and Gluck Festspiele, among others.
A graduate of Munich’s Hochschule für Musik und Theater and the Bayerische Theaterakademie August Everding, Danae was awarded the Bayerische Kunstförderpreis and nominated the same year for “Best Young Singer” by Opernwelt.
